Interesting article. But I found myself waiting for the denouement. So, do you think the Mac's user environment is more conceptual or performative?
I originally purchased my old SE30 because it provided the most elegant solution to writing and illustrating a text on Newtonian collimation that I self published (and continue to do so 17 years later!)
Today, I find myself consulting with several local schools helping them to develop their networks, simplifying lab management, and exploring the unique strengths of various software solutions.
I still feel the best way to describe the Mac (borrowed from an online quote) is, "It just works!" Performative first?
