If I didn't own a Mac, Garage Band would be the reason I bought one. Since Garage Band has been released I have been reading how great it is and how the $50 price tag for iLife 04 to get it is well worth it. When I saw Steve Jobs deminstrate it I thought it was pretty cool. But I wasn't going to spend $50 dollars to get it when I just bought a new computer that had everything but Garage Band. I don't do any work with sound, and I had no need for it.
Well yesterday one of my clients called and said they wanted sound on their website. So I searched the net and found a few site that sold sound loops. Many of them were very good, but nothing that would sound good with the clients site. So after work I drove to the Apple Store to try Garage Band out. I have to tell you my experience at first was not going well. I asked the sales assistant some questions and decied to go ahead a purchuse it.
When I got it home and stated playing around with it "OH MY GOD". This was the most coolest app I had ever used. As the hours pasted and I churned out one loop after another, I began to relize that this is no basic application. It is simple enough for beginers to use, yet has some nice control features for someone who wants more.
Now I am not one to care about this Mac vs. Windows debate, I truely do not care what you use. But if their was ever a reason to Switch, Garage Band is all you need.
