I don't know the first thing about macs. I am a computer repair technition for a small company called DIT. I have worked there for 3 years. A customer called me and asked if I ould fix her laptop. We fix a number of laptops at DIT, maye close to 5 a week. Not many but some. I told her we could fix it. Please note that at this point I thought we were talking about a WINDOWS computer. When she brought it in I told her I would not be able to fix her computer for her because it was a macintosh and we don't deal with them. To make a long story short, I said we would fix it, and now I am stuck with this computer I know nothing about... HELP.
This is the problem I have encountered:
When I turn the computer on I get a blank screen. Waiting a few minutes a small Icon pops up in the center of the screan flashing between a folder with the mac window face thing. (is that the technical name?) and a folder with a question mark on it.
I am no mac expert but using common sence I would say that this means the OS is missing.
I guess what I am getting at is HOW in the world do I fix this? Can I load an OS over what is there? If so how?
I need replys sent to unknown5854@hotmail.com
(I won't have access to this forum at work)
Thanks in advance,
